At-least eight people were killed and eight other got injured when a pick-up plunged into a deep ravine in Lower Dir district. The accident happened early on Saturday when a Datsun bearing Registration Number PWRC.4500, which was going from Shorshing to Chakdara and Batkhela went out of control near Avi-Sha area and flung into a ravine.

The injured were rushed to the nearest THQ hospital at Chakdara, where three of them succumbed to their injuries and were later handed over to their relatives after completing essential process. The dead were identified as Imran, Usman, and two cousins Hazrat Muhammad and Usman belonging to Skhavono; Rahim Dad, Suleman and Yaseen of Shorshing and one Nowsherwan of Manzai. The wounded identified as Zemawar, Sherbaz, Ajmal, Shah Zeb Hyder, Suleman, Faisal Bilal and one Ms. Noor Parasta were rushed to Chakdara Head Quarter Hospital, Batkhela HQ Hospital and Leady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar.
